[General] ANIME IS PORN!!! (18SX)

Malaysia has lots of pointless controversy.

Banning of CD Writers with the purpose of reducing piracy.
The Chinese girl doing nude squat in police lock-up.
And the most recent, ban on Heavy Metal Music because it promotes negative culture.

But nothing takes the cake until the most recent controversy in the internet, not thanks to actual tabloid reporting from a MALAY in a MALAY TABLOID (no offence to my Malay pals and readers, but i think you guys understand the whole issue I'm pointing out here)

*takes deep breath*

ANIME IS NOW CONSIDERED AS PORNOGRAPHY IN SOME QUARTERS OF MALAYSIA AS PROVEN BY SOME IDIOTIC TABLOID WRITER BY THE NAME OF FAIZAL ZAKARIA OF KOSMO! WHICH IS A PART OF UTUSAN GROUP. NOT ONLY THAT, HE IS ALSO A RECENT RECIPIENT A WINNER OF THE KAJAI AWARD, WHICH IS THE HIGHEST HONOUR FOR JOURNALISM!!!

TO QUOTE HIM, "Tinjauan Kosmo! kelmarin mendapati animasi seks yang lebih popular dengan panggilan Anime dijual secara berleluasa dengan harga RM 15 sekeping. Pembeli turut ditawarkan hadiah percuma sekeping DVD Anime sekiranya membeli lima keping DVD sekali gus."

WHICH TRANSLATED TO
"Our survey from KOSMO! yesterday found that animated sex which is popularly known as Anime are sold at the price of RM 15 a piece. Buyers are also given a free DVD if they purchase 5 DVDs."

*vomiting blood after dramtic announcement*

This is more than I can take in terms of Malaysian Idiocracy. Recent post and comments from anime fans around Malaysia are definitely hammering him. This is of no help especially when Faizal himself refused to admit his mistake with the following comment from a local forum

"Terima kasih membaca Kosmo!

Which translates to the following:
"Thank you for reading Kosmo! I understand what do you mean in relation to the 'H rated" issue. I have decided to use it's general name with the intention that parents will know what their children are interested in, in general. I think you are a rational person with plenty of youthful spirit, but a clearer line between religion and lust should be drawn. Nevertheless, I am sure many will understand what anime, with is plenty of genres, and the look east policy, isn't all all as good as it seems"

You know what I think?... Pure Bull. Period. I can't believe that he dares to use hentais as a representation on what animes are. This is like asking a drug addict to be a sample on what malaysians are. Makes me wonder if I should rewatch all my mecha animes like Macross and Gundam.. I've always wondered how does robots make love :P Or infact, check out Dragon Drive on the mating rituals of dragons!

But seriously, I am really disappointed that someone with the highest honour like him make such mistake. Of course I can understand the gist of his article on the rampant hentai sales, but the presentation leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Every otaku's mouth to be exact.

On a side note, does anyone else other than me realise that these Malaysia zealots of morality are some obsecure malay who basically has nothing to do? Everything that is controversial is often that seen that they are the one who started the issues. Please.. we do not need zealots. especially on issues regarding sex and sexuality. If you are worried that everyone will be fucking like rabbits, instill sexual responsibility. NOT CENSORING EVERY SINGLE INFORMATION RELATED TO IT. Sexual knowledge and responsibility doesn't mean that I will be fucking everything that wears a skirt. It means that I know where exactly I stand in such issue and I know the do's and don'ts. Respect, responsibility. these are the things that should be thought.. not "sex is dirty", "girls who enjoy sex are loose", "carying a condom means you like sex" (for your information, I carry condoms to jungle camps as a WATER BOTTLE!!!). Is things like this that gets people more curious. By instilling fear without reasoning, you create curiousity as in the forbidden fruit. By instilling responsibility, you remove ignorance and plant responsibility.
Think about it.

I wonder why they didn't pick on MV's. Some of them contain sexual innuendo and stuff, and the 'stuff' inside is much more REAL than Hentai's. Maybe that prove a point you've said, Dwolve - those guys have too much times on their hands. Someone needs to give them a heavy prod in their butt hole so those sons of the ****** will learn what and what NOT to touch.

I'm waiting for the moment when they ban the Internet for "being the source of Evil and Immorality". That will be the moment this potato country will totally screw up. :P

Read this article yesterday. Whoa... anime are pornography! I didn't know that. Then, I wonder why they still air Doraemon or Sailormoon or Gundam SEED in tv. Hmm... they must've censored their porn contents, that's why!
