Malaysia has lots of pointless controversy.

Banning of CD Writers with the purpose of reducing piracy.
The Chinese girl doing nude squat in police lock-up.
And the most recent, ban on Heavy Metal Music because it promotes negative culture.

But nothing takes the cake until the most recent controversy in the internet, not thanks to actual tabloid reporting from a MALAY in a MALAY TABLOID (no offence to my Malay pals and readers, but i think you guys understand the whole issue I'm pointing out here)

This is more than I can take in terms of Malaysian Idiocracy. Recent post and comments from anime fans around Malaysia are definitely hammering him. This is of no help especially when Faizal himself refused to admit his mistake with the following comment from a local forum

You know what I think?... Pure Bull. Period. I can't believe that he dares to use hentais as a representation on what animes are. This is like asking a drug addict to be a sample on what malaysians are. Makes me wonder if I should rewatch all my mecha animes like Macross and Gundam.. I've always wondered how does robots make love :P Or infact, check out Dragon Drive on the mating rituals of dragons!

But seriously, I am really disappointed that someone with the highest honour like him make such mistake. Of course I can understand the gist of his article on the rampant hentai sales, but the presentation leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Every otaku's mouth to be exact.

On a side note, does anyone else other than me realise that these Malaysia zealots of morality are some obsecure malay who basically has nothing to do? Everything that is controversial is often that seen that they are the one who started the issues. Please.. we do not need zealots. especially on issues regarding sex and sexuality. If you are worried that everyone will be fucking like rabbits, instill sexual responsibility. NOT CENSORING EVERY SINGLE INFORMATION RELATED TO IT. Sexual knowledge and responsibility doesn't mean that I will be fucking everything that wears a skirt. It means that I know where exactly I stand in such issue and I know the do's and don'ts. Respect, responsibility. these are the things that should be thought.. not "sex is dirty", "girls who enjoy sex are loose", "carying a condom means you like sex" (for your information, I carry condoms to jungle camps as a WATER BOTTLE!!!). Is things like this that gets people more curious. By instilling fear without reasoning, you create curiousity as in the forbidden fruit. By instilling responsibility, you remove ignorance and plant responsibility.
Think about it.

This Convention shall be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and even though the main focus is on GW and Boardgames, there will be Confrontation demos taking place. Here is the initial statement from the organiser:

"GAMECON-1 is CONFIRMED on 3-4 December 2005, from 10am-10pm, at the MidValley Exhibition Center (MVEC), Main Hall (18,000 sf).

The MAIN EVENT/HIGHLIGHT is "Last Defence of Humanity", a mass participation (modified) Warhammer 40K showdown between the Space Marine (PanGlobal chapter) and the combined forces of Necrons, Tyranids, Orcs and Chaos Marines. 1000 rookie commanders will be drafted between July-November 2005 to lead Space Marine squads/vehicles in the final showdown, which will take place over 12 terrains over 2 days. To prepare the rookies, 4 bootcamps will be held between that period at Bangsar Shopping Center, KLCC, MidValley and in 10 tertiary colleges, and in Penang and Johor Bahru.

Confirmed tournaments supporting the convention are:
1) Hottest Race in the World (inter school) - this is the official F1 game of the Sepang International Circuit.
2) Memoir'44 Overlord 3's.
3) BuyWord.
4) MENSA Select Challenge.
5) Warhammer Fantasy.

Age: Unknown. Presumabley mid 20s
Nationality: Recently acquired Japanese citezenship
Occupation: Tactical Recruit of Japanese Public Safety Section 9
Position: Recruit, Infiltrator/Assasin/Scout

Background: Shin has no recorded relative or caregiver. He is an orphan from the refugee sector who has a long criminal record for petty crimes until the age of 16 when he voluntered for a black operation by a crime family which give him augumentation via nanotechnology. Unfortunately (possibly fortunately for him) the operation was somewhat aborted by Japanese Public Safety Section 9 which he became the only test subject that managed to escape. Stuck with nowhere to turn to, he began selling his service to various crime families while at the same time enduring the botched programming of the nanites that resides within him.The operation has basically left his back an identifiable scar which is reported to look "like a pair of underdeveloped wings". Nevertheless, he gained fame as a professional thief/assassin under the name 'Shin-Roghami'. Among his prominent target was the Hanzo Takamoto (Head of Naraku Technologies), Kiyoshima Johei (Technological Advisor of Saiban Pharmacueticals), Miyamoto Ken (Editor of Nazuka Publication) and previous Foreign Affairs Advisor, Saiha Nejima. His activities rarely result in high body count in any situation. However, it was his last job with to assasinate Chief Aramaki(poor fool). Interestingly, he chose to turn in and surrender himself to Chief (not to say Major wasn't there to take him out) for reasons unknown. Surprisingly, due to his unconditional surrender, Section 9 was able to solve several prominent cases involving the GhostChildren Case. Due to his cooperation, he was surprisingly insistant in accepting a trial. However due to Chief's intervention, he was 'assasinated' by Major just before his trial. I'm still surprised that he insist that 'he pays for his sin' which he refuses to reveal. However, through Chief and Major's advice, he was accepted into Section 9 with new cybernetic augumentation which is not disclosed to the rest of us except for Chief and Major (arrogant bastard). The cybernetic augumentation however is used to counteract the side effects of the nanites that have, by now integrated into his nervous system.

Abilities: Being a Section 9 member trained by yours truely, he has shown high proficiency in using most military sidearm. However, he has a preference of melee weaponary. However, I find it disturbing especially when it is reported that our combat training droids showing traces of damage from slicing although none of our staff (Shin included) wielded any blade weapons during training. He is extremely proficient in concealling himself especially within shadows (illegal invisibility implants perhaps). He has proven himself to be an excellent scout, infiltrator and also closed ranged marksman (of course, not as good as me).

Note: As of late, Shin has been more withdrawn for some reason despite the numerous operations he actually voluntered in relation to the aftermath of the GhostChildren Case. I have yet to recieve his latest psychological assesment. There are no medical records accessible and I would like to request authorisation to access them.

[DWolve] Report: Operation Rache Bartmoss

Subject rescue was a 100/100 success. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, he was returned badly wounded especially at the neck region. For reasons unknown, he has been reported to be muttering the following words "I'm gonna kill that bastard when I get my hands on him". Other than that, there are no severe wounds located on himself. However one of the the operatives sent to the operation was reported to have manifested the apocalyptic form prematurely. Perhaps due to combat stress. The curent operative is currently under obeservation. The other operatives in this mission is now under questioning. Our observer, Wraith, reported that the intel given to the operatives were inaccurate due to the lack of information regarding the spyder mines that were planted in the target proximity. However, the operatives were able to breach the target area after ..... an extremely careless offensive which resulted in on of the operatives manifesting her apocalyptic form as mentioned above. The observer also reccomended non-disposal of volatile weaponary in further missions as the operatives are not trained in proper usage and procedures for these weapons.

A point of note... A kraeken was seen in the vicinity of the target objective. However the operatives did not encounter it during combat. It is also identified that leader of the orc unit is Grumussh.

Bacrind , Friday: An unfortunate attack by unknown source has laid the prosperous town of Bacrind in ruins within 30 minutes of attack. Just as the city was on it's first day hosting the Festivals of Balance, an unknown group of assailants assaulted the city by legions of goblins and orc marauders.

Massive damage which centered from the upcoming battleground venue and the town center has brought in heroes of the last campaign who managed parlay a previous disaster, including the city's enigmatic leader, King Cyle Sivell, together in the battlefield after a hiatus of 5 years.

Eyewitness reported that various individuals were seen joining the city forces in making "mince meat" of the invaders including an noteworthy battle sorceress who's blade fell the goblins by the tens. - Tom Beckett, Bacrind Chronicles
